I am stealing this one from my friend Nicole. Only I'm going to just name 10 small things that make me happy all the time, not just today.
1. When we're driving in the car and Chris reaches over to squeeze the back of my neck ever so gently (don't worry, he's not choking me, although I wouldn't doubt if I deserve that sometimes!). It's just a small way to say something, without saying anything.
2. When Sadie makes this little noise as she's cuddling. We call it her "purr," even though she's a dog. This is kind of cheating, but it also makes me happy when she gets the "running bug" and runs in a huge circle when we take her for a walk. If there's a large field close by, look out!
3. When Jewels buries her head in my tummy or leg and falls asleep (the kid is growing on me).
4. When I can make it through a week without a family crisis, gossip session or complaintathon.
5. When I can look at something I've made at work and say, "that one's for the portfolio."
6. When I get to see my niece, Kylee. I've tried not to have favorites, but it doesn't work. She's just a really cool kid.
7. When my friends leave a comment on my blog, other social networking site or better yet COME SEE ME (that's a subliminal message) ... or when I get to go see them!
8. When flowers start to bloom, and that general grayness of the last four or five months finally goes away.
9. When I get to eat GOOD Italian food and/or ice cream.
10. When we're sitting in church and one of our pastors (it's a husband and wife team) says something that makes me think "and that's why I love these people." They are so open-minded, yet so grounded in their faith. It's a nice thing to see.
I'm passing it along! What are the little things that make YOU happy? Feel free to comment and/or steal the idea for your own blog.
P.S. The internets will be down at work tomorrow during certain times, so I may not get to frequent your blogs as I usually do. Sorry!

Great list. I may steal it, but at least wanted to comment and let you know how nice it is to read 'happy' things on everyone's blog today. It's like spring on the internet. :)
I love your list!! Like Kari said, it really makes me happy to see these kind of lists. And I totally said 'awwww' out loud when I read numero uno.
So, OK. I am coming to see you in Rome, how about in June? Seriously, I can't leave my prego sister's side until then but I'd LOVE to see you soon!
What a nice list. I agree with Kari's "spring on the internet" comment.
Also, my word verification is "hepgoth." Sounds like somebody who dresses in black and wears heavy eyeliner but rides a scooter and and enjoys poetry readings.
That's sweet. Although, I don't think it can be considered a subliminal message if it's spelled out in all caps. But -- point taken; we'll come see you soon!
Kari - Steal away! Spread the joy.
Nicole - June sounds great! I know everyone is busy (and two pregnant sisters!) You just come when you can, and I can always come down there!
Mickey - I like it. I'm using hepgoth to describe those people in the future... if I ever meet any.
Courtney - Well, we did just see each other, but I think a minor league game in Rome sounds like another attempt to get the group together.
Good stuff.
Spring is a good time. I'm strangely sort of glad that I need to mow the grass.
Winter = blargh.
Everything just makes me either angry or indignant, not that there's a lot of difference there.
Jacob - And who's fault is that? Life is what you make it, man.
If you'd stop making me feel so crappy about myself, maybe I could be happy.
I like the part where you come see me! Although I'm craving a trip home but tickets are so expensive... I think I'm going to steal this list idea.
Ditto spring on the internet.
Although, I am not a big fan of spring right now. Turns out my body decided to be severly affected by seasonal allergies this year.
I've been so negative about my job lately that I've been trying to write down five things per day that I'm grateful for to remind me that life is actually good. I forget sometimes, but it helps to take the lists out of my desk and read through them when I feel like putting my head down and crying. Or walking out and seeing how long it takes them to figure out I'm not in the bathroom.
