More Famous than I Thought!

So, in a random bit of boredom, I decided to Google my great grandfather (the one I mentioned in the last blog), Carlo Alberto Cappa. I always wondered how my relatives knew so much about him. We have quite a bit of documentation on him. Well, here are a few things that came up in my search (you may have to click on these to read them):

Now, I'm thinking if his death was News in the New York Times, he must have been pretty important! I just thought this was really cool. It also explains why every generation of this family (including me) has been a band geek for at least some period of time. I think we even have some copies of some of the music he wrote... very interesting...

That is extremely cool. The guy had twenty trombones send him off at his funeral! Awesome.

That certainly does help out the family history effort when your ancestors have detailed obits in the New York Times. This is really interesting.
